EditStearic Acid Flake
For most polyolefin and PVC's, the screw can be cleaned easily if after the screw is purged, stearic acid flakes are sprinkled on the hot screw and scoured with copper gauze, then wiped down with a cotton rag. The screw can be cleaned of all residues from the screw root surface.
