Used to verify temperature. This is one of the most useful, but often neglected, tools for an extrusion shop. Purchase a unit with interchangeable tips. The surface probe for die and barrel measurement and needle type probes for measuring actual melt temperature, are minimums that should be available. Be sure the tips are always in working order. (Buy spares!) Keep parts in a dedicated case. Have them accessible to all shifts.
